REACH Safety Data Sheet (SDS) | CLP SDS Services REACH Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is the main hazard communication tool in the supply chain of substances and mixtures. The requirements for SDS’s and guide to the compilation to safety data sheets are set out in Article 31 and Annex II of REACH Regulation 1907/2006 respectively. Who Should REACH Supply Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and When?

1. Supplier of a substance or mixture if: o substance/mixture is hazardous; o substance is PBT or vPvB; o substance is on candidate list of substances of very high concern(SVHC) for reasons other than those above;

2. Supplier must provide SDS at recipients request where a mixture is not hazardous but contains a substance which: o poses human health or environmental hazard(>=1% w/w non-gaseous/>=0.2% w/v gaseous mixtures); or; o is a PBT or vPvB (>=0.1% w/w) or; o is on Candidate List of SVHC (>=0.1% w/w) or; o has exposure limits (OELV);

3. SDS must be supplied before or at time of the first delivery of chemical in paper or electronic format; The Requirements of the Latest REACH Safety Data Sheets A good safety data sheet (SDS) must be: o Compiled in accordance with Annex II of REACH; o 16 mandatory headings; o All sections completed – not generic; o All information must be consistent with registration;” to be added o An official language of member state; o Up to date; o Date of issue on first page; o Upon revision, “revision date” to be added; o Clear and concise.
